As its August 4, 2022 meeting (see minutes), the Board voted to discontinue the preceptorship program as a requirement for DVM licensure. The Final Rule was approved for promulgation by the Occupational Licensing Review Commission (OLRC) at its March 15, 2023 meeting and there were no objections made to the Summary Report submitted to the Senate and House Legislative Oversight Committees on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development. The Final Rule will be submitted for publication in the 2023 Louisiana Register, Volume 49, April edition, and the repeal of the preceptorship program and licensure requirement will be fully effective on April 20, 2023.
