These regulatory projects have been proposed and approved by the Board to begin the rulemaking process. The status of each project in the rulemaking process is recorded in this section. Inquiries related to these rulemaking projects should be directed to the Executive Director of the Board at director@lsbvm.org. The rulemaking review process from Notice of Intent to a promulgated Final Rule can take 6 to 12 months [R.S. 49:968(H)(1)]. The Louisiana Register publishes more details in its APA Guide and Rulemaking Timetables, which gives a list of various actions and steps that must be completed through the entire rulemaking process.

[10-01-25] — Legislative Fiscal Office approved Fiscal & Economic Impact Statements.
[10-01-25] — First Report submitted to Senate and House Legislative Oversight Committees on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development.
[10-01-25] — Notice of Intent submitted to the Governor’s Office for review.
[10-01-25] — Notice of Intent submitted for publication in 2025 Louisiana Register, Volume 51, October edition.
[10-20-25] — Notice of Intent published in 2025 Louisiana Register, Volume 51, October edition.
[10-21-25] — Submission of written comments related to this rule proposal will be accepted only from Oct. 21st, 2025 to Nov. 10th, 2025.
[11-10-25] — Deadline for submission of written comments to Board. * See instructions for submitting comments in Notice of Intent.
[11-18-25] — Notice of Intent submitted to Department of Justice’s Occupational Licensing Review Program (OLRP) for review.
[11-20-25] — Submission of written comments to the OLRP will be accepted from Nov. 20st to Dec. 3rd, 2025.
[01-06-26] — Favorable DOJ Opinion received along with approval to move forward in the rulemaking process. [See OLRP Decision’s document dated 11/19/25 for the LBVM]
[01-06-26] — Summary Report submitted to Senate and House Legislative Oversight Committees on Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development for final review.

[02-06-26] — Submitted Insertion Order for Final Rule to the Louisiana Register.
