RACE-Approved CE Opportunities
Per Rule 403 in the LA Veterinary Practice Act, continuing education programs through AAVSB (which are the RACE programs) are approved for CE hours and do not require further approval of the LBVM. Note: Nearly all RACE-approved programs are only for DVMs and/or RVTs. A list of RACE-approved programs can be found on AAVSB’s website.
Important CE Reporting Facts
- Delivery method for CE activities is defined by the individual jurisdictions, not by RACE or individual sponsors. While RACE guidelines may consider interactive webinars are “live”, LBVM Rules – as well as numerous other jurisdictions – distinctly classify interactive presentations as online.
RACE Programs often list all of the approved delivery methods on the certificates; this is NOT acceptable by the Board. CE Certificates must include the specific delivery method in which the hours are earned. - Proof of Attendance Forms must specify the delivery format of earned CE hours, specifically whether the activity was attended in-person or online in accordance to the LBVM’s rules.
- If a submitted CE Certificate does not have all required details, it is not acceptable and the late renewal fee will be assessed if any CE certificates are still incomplete and/or are missing required details by the September 30th annual renewal deadline.
