Annual Renewal Fees
The appropriate fees below will be assessed on your online renewal application automatically based on your license type and the information you submit. Payment can be made online via credit/debit card or via paper check once all renewal information is entered and submitted. Payments made via paper check must be received on/before the September 30th renewal deadline; otherwise, your license/certificate will be expired starting October 1st — No exceptions!
If a check payment for annual renewals is postmarked on/after October 1st, an additional late renewal fee will be assessed and must be paid before the renewal is considered complete. A license/certificate will remain in an expired status until the late renewal fee is paid in full.
Service Fees: A 2.8% service fee applies to credit/debit card payments (charged by Elavon). Check payments have no service fee.
Renewal Fees

- DVM – Active – $250
- DVM Faculty – Active – $100
- RVT – $30
- CAET – $50
- RED – $125
- DVM – Inactive-Retired – $125
- DVM – Inactive-Disabled – $125
Renewal Dates – July 1 to Sept. 30
All licenses and certificates issued for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, animal euthanasia technicians and equine dentists expire annually on September 30th.
All licenses and certificates not properly renewed between July 1 to September 30 – with all Continuing Education hours and required fees paid in full – will be expired beginning on October 1st. Expired licenses can still be renewed; however, renewing an expired license will result in late fees being incurred in addition to possible disciplinary action taken and civil fines levied by the Board.
Late Renewal Fees
The following late renewal fees are assessed in addition to the normal renewal fees for all renewals not submitted by midnight (central time) on September 30:
- DVMs – $150
- RVTs – $20
- CAETs – $25
NOTE: A renewal is still considered late if the CE plan is still missing ANY insufficient or incomplete documentation.
Continuing Education Late Fees
For DVMs only – If any CE hours are completed after the June 30th CE period deadline, a late CE fee of $25 will be automatically assessed.
Back Payment of Fees for Expired Licenses
For Expired Licenses only – If your license or certificate is expired, the renewal can still be completed and your credential returned to active status; however, renewing an expired license will include the payment of all back renewal fees and late renewal fees.
