CE Opportunities Pre-Approved by Board

This is not an all-inclusive list of CE activities accepted and approved by the Board. The Board can only list below those CE activities for which pre-approval was requested by sponsors or presenters. There are numerous state, regional, and national conferences and other CE opportunities that have been approved in the past and may be acceptable by the Board in the future; however, only those for which pre-approval was specifically requested by sponsors or presenters can be listed below. Pre-approval requests from sponsors/presenters must be submitted annually even if the subject matter remains the same from year to year.

Continuing education is is governed by the Board through the provisions of the Louisiana Administrative Code (LAC title 46 part LXXXV). The LAC addresses continuing education instruction in terms of subject matter, accreditation, and the delivery method. “Online instruction” is limited to 50% of the total required hours per CE period (i.e. – fiscal year prior to July 1st renewal opening) and does not include “live webinars/presentations”.

What is Considered “Online”?

“Online participation” is defined in sections 400, 800, and 1200 and includes:

  • interactive or “live” audio or video presentations or webinars in real-time available via the internet.
  • pre-recorded, self-test audio or video presentations with third-party grading;
  • non-interactive audio or video presentations in real-time available via the internet; and

What is Considered “In-Person”?

“Contact participation” (i.e.- in-person) is defined in sections 400, 800, and 1200 as “physical attendance at seminars, lectures, conferences, or workshops”.
